LG Sinha unveils Statue of First Sikh Ruler Baba Banda Singh Bahadur in Jammu

J&K UT LG Manoj Sinha on Tuesday unveiled statue of first Sikh ruler Baba Banda Singh Bahadur on the occasion of ‘Safar-e-Shahadat’ here at Bhagwati Nagar area of Jammu city.
The unveiling event of the Baba Banda Singh Bahadar’s statue saw a jubilation of the Sikh community in Jammu, whose long pending demand for the statue has been fulfilled today.

“We are feeling immense proud that Baba Banda Singh’s statue has been installed here”, a local man belonging to Sikh community said.
“The Sikh community of J&K has a long pressing demand for this statue of Madhav Singh Bairagi who became famous by the name Banda Singh Bahadar, who for his community, country, humanity have become a great example when he avenged sons of Guru Gobind Singh valiantly in battle of Sirhind against Mughals.
“We are so much thankful to local govt who fulfilled our demands and we hope the govt will also pay heed to other demands of Sikh community which will be raised in this function. We hope that on next Bal Veer Diwas in 2024 the LG govt will implement Punjabi language in J&K just like they have implemented Anand marriage act for us”, another elderly man of Sikh community said.
