Jammu: Expressing grief over Sunday’s terrorist attack on J&K  Police retired SSP Mohammed Shafi who was killed by terrorists in a mosque in Guntmulla area of Baramulla district of Kashmir the Ex- J&K DGP Shesh Pal Vaid said that the police department should publish do’s and don’t list for retired and unprotected lower rank cops so that they can be protected from terrorist assaults.

Condoling the death of  Retired Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Muhammad Shafi Mir, former DGP Vaid said, “Today when I woke up I heard a very unfortunate news SSP Muhammad Shafi Mir was killed by terrorists when he went to a mosque in his native place and was reciting Azaan”.

“I have been watching that policemen are being targeted who are on leave or retired and I think do’s and don’t which J&K police department issues for protected people should also be implemented for retired cops and especially for  lower rank constables, SI’s, ASI’s as they’re not under protection.

“Several police personnel have worked in SoG (Special Operation Group) are in constant vigil of terrorists and the terrorists keep vigil on them to attack them in  vulnerable situations.

“If J&K police is  targeted by terrorists then it will demoralise the morale of the cops and it is a conspiracy of Pakistan deep state to create a milieu of fear where citizens forced to think that how they will be safe if cops are being assaulted.

“Those places such as public places, mosque should be avoided as they’re unprotected and namaz should be performed at Police lines or in the vicinity of PCR or less risky places”, he stressed.

On December 24, retired J&K police SSP  Muhammad Shafi Mir was shot dead by terrorists in the Guntmulla area of Baramulla district  when he was offering prayers in a mosque.
