Hockey tournament organised in memory of Chaar Sahibzaade in Jammu

Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory Master Hockey Association is going to organise  a hockey tournament in the memory of Chaar Sahibzaade that is Hockey Gold Cup Master at Hakku Stadium Jammu between December 23 to 25, this was informed by Chairman Mahant Rajesh Bittu while addressing a press conference here today.

He was accompanied by President, Balvinder Singh and General Secretary, Jaswinder Singh (Kuku). Mahant Bittu praised the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for declaring December 26 as Veer Baal Divas.

He said that December 21 to 27 they are observing martyrdom week where they are paying their tribute to them. He said that a hockey tournament is also being organized in their memory.

Senior Vice President Rajinder Singh Sudan, Vice President Janak Singh, Treasurer Iqbal Singh, Angat Singh and tournament Director Manjit Singh Reen was present on this occasion.

Chhotte Sahibzade; younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji attained martyrdom on 26 December 1705 at a very young age of 7 or 8 & 5(or 6) only. Every year on 24 to 26 December, Shaheedi Jor Mela also known as Shaheedi Jor Mel/Sabha is organised at Fatehgarh Sahib Punjab, India, to commemorate the supreme sacrifice at the place of their martyrdom.

In many parts of the country in India and in parts of the globe where Sikh community resides these days (24 to 26 December) also observed by them to commemorate the supreme sacrifice of the martyrdom of Chaar Sahibzaade.
