Police apprehended inter-zone peddlers in Jammu

Continuing the battle against bovine smugglers, Samba police has thwarted three bovine peddling efforts  in Ghagwal and Mansar in Samba, apprehended three inter-zone bovine peddlers and freed 31 bovines and seized three vehicles yesterday.

The nabbed notorious bovine smugglers were identified as Tariq Hussain s/o Basharat Ahmed r/o Anantnag, Mohd. Aslam s/o Billa r/o Pathyar RS Pura district Jammu and Mushtaq Ahmed s/o Babu Ahmed r/o Chenani district Udhampur.

A case FIR No.112/2023 u/s 188 of IPC and another case FIR No.289/2023 u/s 188 of the IPC  were registered at Police Station Ghagwal and Police Station Samba and a probe is on.

The  cattle peddling attempt was thwarted by police teams comprising of SHO Police Station Ghagwal Sham Lal, SHO Samba and Incharge Police Post Mansar PSI Shakti Singh under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Samba Bhishm Dubey and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.

“A total of ninety nine 99 notorious bovine peddlers have been nabbed by Samba Police in past 10 month while 81 FIRs have been registered against bovine smugglers, (71) vehicles used for bovine peddling have been seized. However, 809 bovine animals have been rescued in Samba district”, SSP Samba, Benam Tosh said.
