1 died, dozen hurt in grisly accident in Jammu

Jammu: A grisly road accident took place when a Tata Magic vehicle turned turtle in Samba on yesterday evening in which dozen persons sustained injuries and one died.
As per report, the mishap took place when a Tata Magic vehicle’s wheel bearing broke due to which the driver lost control over the vehicle and overturned on Samba flyover, following which 17 people suffered wounds and 1 woman died on the spot. The travellers came from Punjab state and was going to attend Jhiri Mela in Mishriwala area of Jammu.

After the incident, the victims were rescued by police and local people and rushed to District Hospital Samba for treatment while four victims among the hurt were referred to GMC, Jammu for advanced treatment.
The victims belong to Batala area of Punjab’s Gurdaspur district.
Police have taken cognisance of the accident and a probe was initiated.
