Ahead of wedding, man died of electrocution in Jammu

Jammu: A 25-year-old man allegedly died of electrocution in Jammu yesterday ahead of his wedding which was scheduled next month as claimed by his family.

The deceased was identified as Bua Ditta (25) son of Yash Pal of Bhor Chattha, Jammu.

As per report, the incident occurred when an Airtel employee was fixing broadband connections at Police Headquarters in Police line near Vikram Chowk area of Jammu then he suffered a electric shock, when a electric wire touched the ladder which he was climbing to fix the connections, resulted in the death of the man.

After the incident, the victim was taken to Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar Jammu from where he was referred to Government Medical College Jammu, where he was proclaimed as dead by doctors on arrival, officials said.

“Why didn’t Airtel company representatives came to take cognisance of our son’s death. They must have come to see how he passed away.

“We have lost our young son and we were making arrangements for his marriage”, said victim’s mother, while crying.

“He went to work in the morning and his marriage was fixed next month. We arranged everything and also distributed marriage cards of son.

“I received a call at 4pm that my son has suffered a electric shock and he is admitted at Gandhi Nagar Hospital, when I went there I saw him lying with no company person around”, said victim’s father.

“He was working as an employee in Airtel extreme fibre. His company colleagues told me they were working in police line.

“They were moving the ladder which came in contact with a live wire, due to which he suffered electric shock and fell down from”, a boy said.
