Rajouri encounter: Two Army captains, jawans killed

Jammu: Two Army Indian army captains and two jawans were killed in the line of duty and three others were hurt in the ongoing encounter between security forces and terrorists in Jammu’s  Rajouri district yesterday.

According to the sources, an broke out between security personnel and terrorists in Bajimaal area of Dharmsal of Rajouri, when concealed terrorists in Bajimaal woods opened fire at a search party of Indian army troops, which resulted in death of an Indian army captain and wounds to three other soldiers yesterday.

However, the encounter continued as additional troops were sent to gun down the terrorists at the spot of encounter which later resulted in killing of two army soldiers and an Indian army officer..

The deceased included two captains and two havildars, with other  suffering wounds while the injured army jawans have been taken to the Army Command Hospital in Udhampur district.

The soldiers who laid their lives and made supreme sacrifice for the country were identified as Captain MV Pranjal of 63 Rashtriya Rifles, Captain Shubham and Havildar Majid of 9 PARA while the identity of the fourth soldier is yet to be known.
