Jammu: Police registered FIRs, seized several vehicles

Jammu: The Doda police yesterday registered several FIRs against drivers, seized their vehicles and also fined more than hundred vehicle owners in Doda.
As per report, the Doda police yesterday registered 5 FIRs, seized 13 vehicles and challaned 132 vehicles for overloading.

An FIR was registered against Bus driver Munir Ahmed r/o Changa, Doda for overloading, second FIR was registered against a Mini Bus driver namely Kailash Chander r/o Desa, Doda while third FIR was registered against Tempo driver Manjeet Kumar for overloading .However, fourth FIR was registered at Police station Thatri against Mini Bus driver Zahoor Ahmed r/o Desa, Doda while another fifth FIR was registered against a Tata Sumo driver namely Yakub Mohd in Gandoh Police station of Doda.
Moreover, the Doda traffic police seized 13 vehicles and fined 132 vehicle operators for overloading their vehicles beyond their sitting capacity.
The Doda police conducted this special drive in the wake of Doda’s bloodiest road mishap in which a Bus fully packed with passengers met with an accident at Assar area of Doda resulting in deaths of 39 people and wounds to 17 others, who are still admitted at GMC, Jammu.
