Soldier from Jammu killed in blast

Jammu: An Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) jawan from was killed in an IED blast making supreme sacrifice for the country in Chhattisgarh yesterday.

According to the report, the deceased along with other soldiers was coming back from his duty then on the way they became target of an IED blast carried out by Maoists in Gariaband district of Chhattisgarh state, leading to on the spot death of ITBP jawan from Jammu’s Samba district and wounds to others.

The deceased ITBP soldier who laid down his life in the line of duty has been identified as Joginder Singh s/o Dilip Singh r/o village Abtal Katlan in Samba. The victim is survived by a 9-year-old son, wife and old aged parents.

It has been said that the deceased’s body might reach his native place in afternoon or late in the evening.
