Big heist took place in Jammu

Jammu: A daring biggest heist has occurred in Jammu in which burglars targeted a jewellery shop  on the eve of Diwali late night yesterday and looted jewellery worth of crores.

According to the report, the heist took place when some thieves broke wall of a jewellery shop in Upper Gumat market of Jammu city  by making a hole in the wall  and stole five gold and few silver necklace from the shop worth of crores and escaped.

“The shop belongs to my old friend Ram Kapoor. He is very noble man and he bought his shop with his sweat and blood from which he use to run his household and which has been looted now.

“He was unwell yesterday and his employee opened his shop. Mr Ram is in shock but he is coming to his shop.

“The police has come here with sniffer dogs and FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) team and they’re probing the robbery”, a local shopkeeper said.

“I consider that this robber took place because of police’s negligence as there is police post located at 10 mins distance from here.

“Yesterday was one of the biggest festival and police use to patrol here but they didn’t this time and last year Mr Kapoor brother’s shop was robbed and now. It raises question on security measures”, he added.

A case has been registered at Hari Market Police Station in Jammu.
