Family agitates as man commit suicide in Jammu

Jammu: Family members of a married man, who died by suicide, staged a protest and blocked the Jammu-Pathankot highway on Tuesday, demanding an inquiry into the circumstances leading to the youth’s death. The family members expressing anger alleged that the police is not taking any action into the death of their son even after five days of his demise.

As per report, the deceased man was found hanging in his house this morning in Kathua district of Jammu.

“My son went to his in-law’s house to meet his daughter last night. His mother-in-law and brother-in-law thrashed him badly there.

“They made him drink liquor and took him out in an auto and throw him near the police  station. When he came back he hanged himself”, said victim’s mother while weeping.

“Its been two years since his marriage and his wife has been torching my brother since the beginning.

“My brother went to meet his daughter in his in-laws house and they didn’t let him meet her instead they thrashed him put him in an auto and took him to Women Cell Kathua”

“The police asked me to take my brother home but I told them that I will come there tomorrow.

“The police then called my brother-in-law and he took him in his house and today we found him hanged.

“Police came to our house and has sent my brother’s body for the autopsy and have been telling us to wait for the post-mortem report.

“But why the police are not arresting my brother’s in-laws when everything is clear that he committed suicide because of them.

“The police is advising us to not do anything while they are not arresting anyone”, alleged victim’s brother.
