Locals irked by locked public toilet in Jammu

Jammu: Irked with the inconvenience caused due to the locked public toilet at Dogra Hall Jammu on Friday locals urged Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) to re-open the public toilet for public comfort.
As per report, the matter came to light when some locals found a JMC public loo locked who they went to use it near Dogra Hall in Jammu.

“I wanted to urinate so I climbed up the flyover over Vikram chowk but when I saw the public toilet here I found it locked.
“Where a person can pee then. The govt has not spend so much money on this public toilet to keep it locked”, said Sanju Manhas, a non-local man.
“The public toilet was inaugurated in 2014 then for an year it became non-functional and remained locked.
“Why the govt has spend nine lakh rupees on this instead they could have built a shop for a poor person from which they would have got some rent”, a local man said.
“There is no advantage of this public loo to any shopkeeper in the vicinity neither to any patient who daily comes to a nearby medical lab.
“The govt is removing carts of poor people but they have locked this public toilet what kind of smart city they want to make”, he added.
“The tax payer money is getting waste”, another local man said.
“The ladies will suffer as they have to go to Kachi Chawani from here to use a toilet”, a local resident added.
