145 burglars nabbed by police in Jammu

Jammu: With the arrest of one more notorious thief today, the number of thieves arrested in past nine months by Samba Police under the guidance of SSP Samba Benam Tosh has increased to 145. As many as 72 theft cases have been solved in a short span. Moreover, top kingpin of thieves’ gang was also detained and lodged in jail by Samba police recently under PSA.

The notorious absconding thief arrested by Police at Bari Brahmana yesterday has been identified as Rohit Kumar s/o Satpal r/o Chawala, tehsil R.S Pura, district Jammu. He was main thief wanted in case FIR No. 246/2023 u/s 379 IPC of Police Station Bari Brahmana, he was absconding and Police had been conducting series of raids to arrest him. Finally police party comprising of Inspr. Sham Lal, PSI Vivek Singh under the supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana Rahul Nagar and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary nabbed him today. He has been involved in other theft cases also.

On the directions of SSP Samba Benam Tosh, Police has launched intensive drive against thieves in Samba district, conducting indepth investigation, working out old theft cases one after the other, arresting thieves/dishonest receivers of stolen property and effecting recoveries due to which further incidents of thefts have been stopped to a greater extent in Samba district.
