Vendors expressed anger in Jammu

Jammu:
Several vendors of vegetable market on Thursday in Kathua expressed anger over removal of carts and staged protest against local authorities for allegedly not allowing them to run their business.

The vegetables vendors accused local authorities of snatching their only livelihood and warned that they will resort to violence if anyone tried to stop them from running their business in the Mandi in Kathua.

The vendors said that they have operating the mandi from past forty years and no one objected them including vyapar mandal.

“This regime says that they will provide employment to people and we are in this business since generations.

“The Vyapar Mandal have no complain with us. But whenever a new DC gets appointed here they target vegetable vendors.

“We have never demanded anything from the administration. We will also fight back if the authorities came here to beat us”, said Mr Rohit Gupta, President of Vegetable vendors in Kathua.
