Temple’s roof collapsed in Jammu

Jammu: In a startling incident, a temple’s roof collapsed in Shalamar area of Jammu leaving a mountain of debris on Tuesday.
The incident happened when there was pooja going on inside the temple then suddenly the roof of Shri Ranbireshwar temple’s first floor collapsed when it was struck by lightning. The holy temple is situated in Shalamar area of Jammu whose roof suddenly fell down and turned into a mountain of debris. Shri Ranbireshwar temple is the oldest temple in the heart of Jammu city built by Maharaja Ranbir Singh in 1880 AD.

After the roof of the Jammu’s oldest sanctum collapsed the SDRF and police called on the site and they launched a rescue operation to save the victims. The SDRF personnel were seen digging the temple’s debris to check if there is any survivor buried under the debris or not.
However, no one has suffered any wounds in this incident.
A local man said that the temple’s roof collapsed because it was struck by lightning strike and there would have been more damage to lives if the incident could have happened on Monday because large number of devotees visit here during that day of the week.
