DGP sanctions Rs 46 lakh for organising Police Commemoration Day events
Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has sanctioned an amount of Rs 46 lakh for organising various events in connection with the Police Commemoration Day, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, and Police Flag Day Week-2023, beginning from October 21 and concluding on the last day of the current month.
As per an order, Rs 2 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of 23 District SSPs under the Civic Action Programme 2023-24 for organising various commemorative events in their districts, a schedule of which has already been forwarded to all the officers.

A statement said that the commemorative programmes would be held to highlight the martyrdom of the police personnel who laid down their lives in service of the nation and its citizens.
During the 9-day-long period, the Police Commemoration Day functions would be held at the APC Zewan/Gulshan Ground & Rail Head Complex in Jammu.
Sports events, exhibitions highlighting contribution of Police martyrs, visits to the towns/villages of the Police martyrs, debates in schools, colleges on the theme, “Role of Police in Nation Building,” unity run, cultural programmes, police band shows at public venues, honouring of the special achievers among siblings of the police martyrs, national security seminars besides other events would be organised in the District Headquarters as part of the programme.
