Jammu: Rape accused attempts suicide in jail

Jammu: A rape accused attempted suicide inside a jail in Poonch district of Jammu on 7 October.
According to the report , the matter came to fore when a rape accused tore a blanket and made a noose from it and was trying to hang himself with it in a jail in Surankote in Poonch. However, the vigilant police personnel in the prison foiled his suicide attempt when they heard his screams and rushed him to the hospital.

The man was identified as Ulfat Hussain r/o Narote of Poonch. The accused was nabbed when a victim girl approached Surnakote police that she was abducted and raped by the mentioned accused, after which the Surankote police conducted the medical examination of the victim and apprehended the culprit. The accused was arrested two days.
A case FIR under U/S 376, 366 was registered against the accuses at Surankote police station.
