Police apprehends several criminals for attacking women in Jammu

Jammu: Continuing their war against crime the Samba police has apprehended several criminals for attacking women in Samba district of Jammu yesterday.
As per sources, a Samba police team nabbed ten criminals for assaulting women in the jurisdiction of PS Samba, PS Bari Brahmana and PS Purmandal.

There were four cases relating to attacks on women including attempt to murder registered at Samba, Bari Brahmana and Purmandal police stations. In this connection FIR No.238/2023 u/s 307 IPC of PS Samba, FIR No. 143/2020 u/s 452, 354-B, 504, 506, 34 IPC of PS Samba, FIR No.229/2023 u/s 147, 451, 323, 504, 506 IPC of PS Bari Brahmana and FIR No.11/2023 u/s 147, 336, 323, 504, 506 IPC of PS Purmandal have been solved by police and a probe is underway.
The nabbed accused have been identified as Latif Mohd s/o Allah Rakha r/o Talote Samba, Manzoor Ahmed s/o Allah Rakha r/o Talote Samba, Miyan s/o Abbi r/o Badheri Samba, Saroj Kumar s/o Ram Dass r/o Uttar Pradesh, Lalu s/o Avideh r/o Uttar Pradesh, Yougeshwar Kumar s/o Udhay Bhan r/o Uttar Pradesh and four others.
Out of the ten criminals three were arrested by a Police team headed by SHO P/S Samba Daljit Singh and I/C PP Supwal ASI Balbir Kumar, 1 criminal was nabbed in attempt to murder case FIR No.238/2023 in which a woman sustained grave head injuries and two criminals in case FIR No.143/2020 in which one woman was attacked after criminal trespass.
However, 5 accused were apprehended by a Police team headed by SHO P/S Bari Brahmana Sumit Sharma in case FIR No.229/2023 in which one woman suffered grave wounds due to physical assault, while two criminals were arrested by a Police team headed by SHO P/S Purmandal Vijay Verma in case FIR No.11/2023 in which one woman suffered serious head injuries & was hospitalized.
The arrests were made under the supervision of DySP Garu Ram, SDPO Bari Brahmana Rahul Nagar and Addl SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh has informed that total 128 criminals have been nabbed in 9 months in different crimes such as murder, rape, attempt to murder, assaults in Samba.
