Jammu: Stones pelted at Wedding procession

Jammu: A wedding procession was stopped and was allegedly pelted with stones in Doda district of Jammu on Monday.
According to the report, the incident took place at Parmaz village in Doda district when the wedding procession of an orphaned girl was passing through the village, after which some relatives of the bride hurled stones at the ‘Doli’ (Palanquin, marriage procession) of the woman.

The Barat (wedding procession) came from the Kishtwar district.
After the incident, the bride returned to her home. However, when the Doda police was informed about the incident they reached on the scene and provided police protection to the victim bride after which the wedding procession safely continued.
The Doda police has registered a case in this regard and a probe is on.
