Jammu: Court awards imprisonment to burglar
The Court of Sub-Judge (JMIC) Ramnagar, presided by R K Lalhal, has convicted a thief and awarded him imprisonment of three years.
The accused, namely Darshan Singh alias Mardotu, son of Ramesh Singh, resident of Martha, tehsil Ramnagar in District Udhampur was involved in case FIR number 04/2019, under section 457,380, 379, 201 RPC of Police Station Basantgarh. Assistant Public Prosecutor (APP) Yuvraj Singh appeared on behalf of the Government.

The convict Darshan Singh had allegedly stolen one Tata Mobile Mahindra vehicle bearing number JK14F- 3222 from Thadlu Pul on May 4 in 2019 and on the same night, had broken the locks of five shops situated at Dudu market and had further stolen articles of approximately Rs 1, 18, 270 from the said shops.
The court, on the basis of evidence of prosecution witness and statement of accused, convicted him and awarded an imprisonment of three years besides imposing a fine of Rs 4000.
