Police imprisoned cattle smugglers in Jammu

Samba: The Samba police yesterday foiled a cattle smuggling bid and imprisoned three smugglers in Bari Brahmana area of the district yesterday.
As per sources, a police team headed by SHO Police Station Bari Brahmana Sumit Sharma under the supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana Rahul Nagar and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary foiled a bovine smuggling and imprisoned three cattle smugglers in Bari Brahmana. The police also seized the vehicle used in the commission of crime.

The accused were identified as Sadam Hussain s/o Liyaqat Ali r/o Anantnag, Zakir Ahmed s/o Farooq Ahmed r/o Anantnag and Muzaffar Choudhary s/o Ali Ahmed r/o Chowadhi district Jammu.
A case FIR No. 235/2023 U/S 188 IPC & 11 PCA Act was registered at PS Bari Brahmana against the accused persons.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh said that 88 bovine smugglers have been arrested by Samba Police in past eight and half months and 68 FIRs have been registered against cattle smugglers, while 58 vehicles used in the commission of crime have been seized. However, 664 bovine animals have been rescued in the Samba district by the Samba police.
