Jammu: Police on Monday recovered a body of a non-local labourer from a village in Banihal town of Ramban district.

The report said that some locals spotted the body in  Shiran village Tehsil Khari of Banihal today and informed the police station concerned accordingly.

A police team after receiving the information about the incident reached the spot and recovered the body.

The body of the deceased was shifted to Banihal hospital for medico-legal formalities including the autopsy.

The deceased has been identified as Surjeet Das  son of S/O Santoo Das, a resident of Hooghly district of West Bengal.

The police has launched a probe to ascertain the actual cause of death.
