Jammu: Black-topped roads expose poor work done

Jammu:
The villagers of Thathri area of Doda have alleged poor quality of work in the construction of the PMGSY road from Thathri-Cheera in Doda in Jammu on Monday.

The villagers said the Thathri-Cheera road is in a very bad shape even after the completion of the first phase of the construction work. They alleged that use of substandard construction materials and non-compliance with the DPR specifications were the main reasons for the bad condition of the road.

“They are coercively macadamising the road and the concerned department should ask them the reason.

“The contractor is showing hooliganism and apprising us that FIRs will register against us.

“The contractor is saying that he fears no one. There is crores of scam that is happening in the construction of this road.

“I will apprise DC sir that there is rampant corruption that is going on since the time the construction work began on Thatri-Cheera road.

“The locals created a ruckus and they exposed this road construction fraud here”, a local man allegedly said.
