Locals expressed anger as theft cases soars in Jammu

Jammu: Several locals in Kathua district of Jammu yesterday expressed anger as theft cases soars in their area.

The dissenters who belong to Ward No. 10 of Kathua expressing anger against the rise in theft cases demanded action against burglary in their area.

“I have been living here since 45 years and from last four years the thefts have increased here.

“The people who own cattle and solely depend on them for their survival are facing great financial risk from thieving.

“The landlords are already facing the burnt of inflation. The thieves come in the night and ransacked landlords, poor people.

“We appeal to local authorities to take strong action against the burglars so that people can be protected from suffering heavy loses” said Sukh Dev Sharma, a local resident.

“I’m Hashim Din the burglars have stolen my two buffaloes from my house a day before yesterday. The burglars are local people and the govt is familiar with them.

“I have registered an FIR against the burglars. The thieves come in the night and escape with our cattle”.

“The burglars are now stealing bovines here and they’re fearless even after the presence of a police post near by. We want police action against the burglars who carried out these thefts”, one of the protestor said.

“There is not a single house where burglaries have not taken place. From my house to Rajbagh area they have burgled every house.

“My house, Mr Mohan Singh, DSP’s house, and a shop has been burgled. We want police patrol in the night here.

“We’re giving two days to local administration and if they didn’t paid heed to our concerns then we will intensify our agitation and will block highway”, added Jaswant Singh another local resident.
