Kashmiri Pandits stage Protest in Jammu over Delay in Relief Payment

Jammu: Several Kashmiri Pandits staged a protest demonstration on Tuesday, against a delay in the payment of monthly relief outside the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner Office at Canal road in Jammu.

The agitators were demanding immediate release of relief payment for August.

“Our relief of august month is delayed. We don’t know whether they will  give us monthly ration or not as our monthly relief have been stopped.

“We are apprising commissioner sir to pay heed to our issue because 1500 families depended on this relief are suffering.

“We also appeal LG sir to look into our matter and resume our monthly relief”, said Mrs Fiza Lone, a Kashmiri Muslim migrant.

“They should tell us whey have withheld our monthly relief which we have been receiving from past three decades

“They are doing wrong and registering FIRs against Kashmiri migrants. We have given them ultimatum till September 20 and after that relief commissioner sir will be responsible for the situation”, another protestor warned.
