Police nabbed inter-state peddlers in Jammu

Jammu:
The Samba police attaining another mile stone of success against the criminals in Samba nabbed two inter-state drug peddlers in Vijaypur area yesterday.

According to the report, the Samba police apprehended two inter-state drug smugglers from Vijay area of Samba district and recovered 400 gram of heroin worth of Rs 28 lakhs approximately in international market from their possession.

The incarcerated heroin smugglers were identified as  Sourab Deep Singh s/o Major Singh r/o Village Sultan tehsil Amritsar (Punjab) and Karan Singh s/o Baljeet Singh r/o Sultan tehsil Amritsar (Punjab). The heroin smugglers were peddling heroin from Punjab to Samba district.

A case FIR No. 129/2023 u/s 8/21/22/27-A/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Vijaypur and a probe is underway.

The smugglers were arrested by the District Anti-NDPS Team and Police Station team headed by SHO Police Station Vijaypur Sandeep Charak under the supervision of SDPO Vijaypur Rohit Kumar and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.

Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Benam Tosh said that total seventy hardcore drug-peddlers including 13 women drug-smugglers have been arrested in past eight months.
