Police apprehends woman with cannabis in Jammu

Jammu: To eradicate the menace of Drugs from the society and take stringent action against Drug Peddlers within district, Jammu Police last night apprehended a woman  and recovered cannabis from her possession.

According to the report, the Jammu city police conducted a naka at Rajiv Nagar last night and during checking they stopped a lady who was carrying a polythene bag with her. But when the police asked the accused to let them check the shopper the woman tried to fled the scene and when police nabbed her they recovered 2.5 kg of cannabis (Ganja) from her possession.

The arrested woman peddler was identified as Ruby D/o Abdul Rasheed r/o Rajiv Nagar of Jammu.

It is yet to be revealed in police investigation where the woman was taking the Ganja consignment, the report said.

A case FIR NO. 269/23 U/S 8/20 NDPS act of the IPC registered against the accused at Bahu Fort police station and the probe is on.

The arrest was made by SHO Bahu Fort Shiv Dev, Incharge PP Narwal Lalit Sharma and their police team.
