ANTF arrests four hardcore narcotics suppliers from different places

The Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) has apprehended four notorious narcotics drug suppliers operating across Jammu, Punjab, Kashmir, and Delhi.

An ANTF spokesperson said that one prominent arrest involved Ramprakash Gupta, a well-known narcotic drug supplier based in Jammu. Gupta’s capture revealed his links with a Delhi-based supplier named Mohammad Shakir, he said.

“A rigorous investigation ultimately led to Shakir’s arrest in New Delhi, effectively dismantling this illicit drug distribution network,” said the ANTF spokesperson.
Inspector Amandeep Singh of ANTF, Jammu, played a pivotal role in these operations, ensuring that both peddlers were placed behind bars.

In a separate operation, the ANTF spokesperson said, one Ishfaq Ahmad Mir was apprehended in Anantnag, putting an end to his evasion in connection with a significant drug case. Mir and his brother were primary suppliers of poppy straw in Rajpura, Pulwama, with their entire family involved in this unlawful trade.

Inspector Sanjeet Sharma led this operation, strengthening the chain of arrests and dismantling the entire network.

In another operation, he said, Inspector Varuneshwar Singh successfully apprehended one Zahid Sheikh, a drug distributor in Anantnag, who received narcotics from Delhi and distributed them among local youth.

The ANTF spokesperson said that in the fourth operation, Inspector Vikas Hans arrested one Shinderpal Singh in Punjab, a distributor who sourced narcotics from Kashmir-based suppliers and distributed them among the youth in Punjab.

“These arrests mark a significant triumph in the ongoing battle against drug trafficking, offering much-needed relief to both law enforcement agencies and the youth of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

Pertinently, all the operations were carried out under the guidance of Shamsher Singh, DySP Police Station ANTF Jammu Zone, and the supervision of Raj Kumar, SSP ANTF J&K.
Meanwhile, the ANTF J&K has earnestly appealed to the general public and youth to distance themselves from drugs and to report any information regarding drug distributors and peddlers to ANTF. The identity of informers will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.
