Jammu: NIA held two terror associates for Dhangri terror attack

Jammu:
The National Investigating Agency yesterday arrested two terror associates from Poonch’s Mendhar area  for sheltering terrorists who were involved in Dhangri terror attack, in which seven victims belonging to minority Hindu community were killed by the Pak-backed terrorists on January 1.

As per sources, the NIA arrested the duo, Nisar Ahmed alias Haji Nisar and Mushtaq Hussain from Poonch’s Mendhar area. The accused were formally arrested by the NIA on Thursday in another case registered  at Police Station Gursai, Mendhar of Poonch.
. The accused were produced before NIA Special Court, Jammu on Friday and were sent to 12 days NIA custody.

 

A case FIR no. 01/2023 at PS Rajouri u/s 302/ 307/120-B/ 452/323 of IPC; Sections 13/16/18 of UA (P) Act 1967 and Sections 7/27 of Arms Act was registered at PS Rajouri. However,  the NIA took over  the case and re-registered it on 13th of January.

Investigations by the NIA revealed that both apprehended duo were involved in harbouring terrorists who had carried out dastardly attack on the civilians in Dhangri village of Rajouri.

The arrested duo provided the terrorists refuge in a hideout build by them on the directions of Pakistan based Lashkar-e-Taiyaba (LeT) handlers namely Saifullah @ Sajid Jutt, Abu Qatal @ Qatal Sindhi and Mohd. Qasim.

Further Investigations into the case is still going on.
