                 Jammu: Police held drug smuggler
Jammu: Continuing the drive against drug abuse launched by District Police Reasi yesterday a drug smuggler was held by the police.
As per sources, a Police Party of Police Station Pouni, Reasi while on traffic duty in Pouni area stopped an Alto car bearing Regd no. ‘JK20A-8251’ for checking at Marhi, which was coming from Reasi towards Pouni town.
During checking of the said vehicle 120 gms of Charas like substance wrapped inside a white coloured polythene bag was recovered from the dash board of the car.
The drug peddler was identified as Ghulam S/o Qadir R/o Puria Tehsil Pouni of Reasi.
In this connection, a Case FIR No 59/2023 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act got registered at P/S Pouni and investigation initiated to unearth the forward and backward linkages.
The whole operation of recovery of the cannabis was carried out by the team led by SHO P/S Pouni Purab Singh assisted by IC PP Bhambla PSI Jasbir Singh, under the supervision of Dy.SP Headquarters Reasi Neeraj Padyar.
