Several arrested in ‘abetment to suicide’ case in Jammu

Jammu: The Samba police arrested several accused persons in abetment to suicide case of a man who was a resident of Samba district yesterday. The accused persons have been remanded to ten days judicial custody and have been lodged in District Jail Kathua.
As per sources, the incident came to light when a person namely Bodh Raj s/o Lalo Ram age (52) consumed poison and was hospitalised on July 20, but later expired at GMC Jammu.

After the incident, when the Rakh Amb Talli police post of Samba received this information they launched an investigation to ascertain the actual cause of death, after which they nabbed four persons in abetment to suicide case of the victim.
The arrested accused have been identified as Faqir Chand s/o Lalo Ram r/o Rakh Amb Talli, Surjit Kumar s/o Faqir Chand r/o Rakh Amb Talli, Ashok Kumar s/o Jagdish Raj r/o Rakh Amb Talli and Jameet Roy s/o Lt. Sadhu Ram r/o Meen Sarkar Barjani Bari Brahmana.
A case FIR NO 97/2023 u/s 306/109 IPC was registered at Police Station Samba.
Meanwhile, the probe into the matter is being conducted by SI Shabir Ahmed under the supervision of SHO Police Station Samba Rajeshwar Singh, DySP Garu Ram and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.
