Man alleges recommendations need to get treatment in Jammu’s Govt hospital

Jammu: A man has alleged that recommendations are needed to get treatment at GMC, Jammu as his mother was denied simple medical treatment for not having a single one.
According to the report, the incident happened when a man namely Mohd Akram of Chasana area of Reasi went to GMC Jammu to conduct his mother’s Ultrasound test. However, when he reached there he stood for hours in the queue outside the lab at hospital, but when his turn came he was told by the attending staff to visit again after some time displaying negligence.

“I work in Rajouri district and I received a call from my family yesterday that my mother is ill and I have to come to Jammu.
“My mother has pain in her stomach and she was referred to GMC Jammu. When I admitted my mother at GMC Jammu.
“The doctors kept coming to check my mother’s condition for two days then after that they stopping coming.
“Last night the doctors told us to conduct my mother’s ultrasound and we got it done and took the report at 7am in the morning
“When I gave my mother’s ultra sound to the doctor he apprised us it it normal and told us to conduct another one.
“When we again went to conduct another ultrasound of my mother the security guard incharge told us to wait in the queue.
“The attending security guard outside the Ultra sound section was only letting those people inside the facility who got recommendations and not us who don’t have any.
“We came from far flung for treatment and we’re not even getting basic medical facility”, said Mr Mohd Akram.
