Jammu Girl wins first prize for singing National anthem

Jammu: A School girl  namely Muthaira Shabnam from Jammu’s Kisthwar district has brought delights for whole J&K by winning a cash prize of Rs 25000 as first prize for signing National anthem in an online competition organised by the J&K LG Manoj Sinha on independence day.

 

Speaking to the media, Muthaira Shabnam, elucidated, “LG sir conducted an online National anthem singing contest and I heard about it from my school.

“I had no intention of taking part in this competition because last year I also participated in it and won third prize.


“But on the last moment I took part in this contest and was hopeless but  it went well for me”.

“I’m so glad for my daughter as last time she performed well and also participated in a painting contest and this time she attained first position.

“I’m thankful to LG Manoj Sinha who organised such competitions and provided such big platforms to our children.

“I had little experience and got third prize in National anthem singing contest but this time I worked hard and won first prize.

“Last year I was also awarded in painting contest by LG sir, there was also a contest in Kishtwar this time themed patriotic songs but I came here in Jammu and missed that.

“I’m studying in Girls Higher Secondary school Kishtwar in tenth standard. I didn’t practiced that much well for the contest.

“But everyone used to say me that I have a natural voice and I didn’t thought that I will win first prize”, added, Muthaira Shabnam.

“This cash prize is special for us”, Shabnam’s father said.

“The students of  whole Jammu division participated in it and participants were from 13-18 years of age and above this age group.

“We should never conceal whatever talent we have and should try to bring it to the fore. We should take part in contest to get exposure.

“I have played on national level in cricket”, she claimed.
