Family members of thrashed ‘Dhaba’ owner in Jammu held protest, demanded justice

Jammu: The family members and locals in Kathua district of Jammu on Monday held a protest and expressed anger on the recent incident in which  a Dhaba owner namely Bhushan Singh and his workers was allegedly thrashed by a police man and his accomplice at gunpoint in the victim’s Dhaba.

Speaking to the media, vexed wife of the Dhaba owner, said, “A police man, an retired officer and a local man came to my husband’s dhaba to have food.

“The three men thrashed my husband for one and half an hour that day and the police is not able to nab the third man.

“They have badly thrashed him due to which he has suffered wounds on his neck and he is not able to speak properly.

“Our case in not getting solved and third accused is still at large. We demand justice and I want to know how come those policemen got guns.

“They also thrashed our workers at gunpoint and they are only saved by God’s grace. What would have happen if somebody might got killed by the gun.

“The police didn’t informed us about the attack on my husband I came to know about this from social media.

“We just want justice and wanted the accused persons to be nabbed. We are afraid to go out and sacred of police here.

“My husband was thrashed by a policeman how we can trust police. We are also afraid to step out of our homes.

“These are two brothers who after doing LLB opened this dhaba to financially help themselves.

“Two or three days ago some men thrashed their workers and the boys after that. Earlier we used to hear about burglaries.

“The hooliganism has increased in Kathua after the abrogation of Article-370 and there is an inflow of non-local people here.

“We are not even safe in our homes”, a local man said.
