Jammu: Several held in fake accident case

Jammu: The district Doda Police has unearthed another mysterious accidental case where a vehicle was recovered from the Chenab River in Prem Nagar on 29 July.

As per report, the police received information regarding a drowning vehicle on July 29 in Chenab river near Prem Nagar of Doda district. When the police discovered the car, no one was found inside it but recovered a cell phone from it after which when the police analysed the phone found in the car and found that the mobile’s sim card in the name of one namely Ashiq Ali s/o Khair Din r/o Bala, Doda.

When the police interrogated the owner of the sim he told the police that the sim is being used by his brother-in-law namely Shamim Ahmed s/o Basheer Ahmed r/o Bhala, Doda. However when Doda police interrogated Shamim Ahmed he confessed them that he faked this mishap along with his father and some other men and concealed the goods of worth 11 lakhs kept in a load carrier (JK02CH5504) in Bhala of Doda which was coming from Kishtwar to Jammu laden with goods.


They left some goods in the vehicle before drowning it to deceive police so that they think all the goods got drowned in the Chenab river, the report said.

The police recovered  stolen items of worth Rs 11 lakhs such as grocery items, blankets, food items, hardware, stationery items from the accused persons.

On 1 August, Doda Police solved a mysterious accidental case where a car was recovered from the Chenab River while the family was found in a village in Haryana’s Panchkula. The accused family did this to evade loan debts.
