Jammu-Kashmir: Police arrests couple faking as officers

Srinagar:
In a shocking incident, the Srinagar police arrested a couple faking as IAS and IPS officers in Kashmir.

According to the report,  a Srinagar based wife and husband duo who were disguising as IAS and IPS officers and were scamming local people by taking money from them on the pretext of providing jobs and other benefits have been arrested  by the police.

The accused couple has been identified as Mohan Lal Ganjoo s/o Late Girdhari Lal Ganjoo who was impersonating as IAS officer and Ayoush Koul Ganjoo his wife was disguising as IPS  officer. However, the police has recovered laptop, mobile, transfer and appointment letters, cash, jewellery, stamps of IAS,IPS officers and other articles from their possession.

A case FIR NO. 73/2023 US 170,490, 420, 467, 468, 471, of the IPC has been registered against the accused persons.

The arrests were made by SSP Srinagar Rakesh Balwal, SDPO Sadder Mohd Ashrif Lissery, SHO Muddasir Nazar and their police team.
