The Vice-president of National Conference and Ex-J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah today after the hearing of Article-370 in Supreme court expressed his thoughts about the proceedings of the hearing while saying scathing remarks against the present regime.
“We have tried to make understand our standpoint to the Supreme court Chief justice and other judges in the hearing like how we see the reading down of Article-370 on August 5 and what we expect from Supreme court.
“The Chief judge and other judges of the bench in the supreme court hearing of Article-370Â also raised questions as they are supposed to do.
Responding to the query of J&K legislative assembly the former Chief minister, said, “This is one of the significant query as it is related to J&K’s constitution and India.
“What happened on 5 august 2019 was against the constitution of J&K and the country and I hope the honorable supreme court will see this matter through our views.
“Everyone has the right to express their views and majority of the people of J&K oppose the current regime’s step about Article-370.
“We aren’t arguing the politics that surround reading down of Article-370 but unfortunately so many people who back this regime on this matter they talk about politics.
“We are talking about constitution and this matter can be sold politically to the masses. We see this abrogation as violation of the Indian constitution.
“Nobody has got any right and I have data based on a journalist’s report that the govt’s tall claims are hollow that many things have changed post-2019 in J&K.
“If they talk about infiltration cases then why they are not allowing elections in J&K region. The BJP is coward and we will see the results of elections on the ground when they will be conducted.
“This is the biggest case after independence that’s why I have come here in supreme court for the first in my life as so many cases regarding J&K have been dealt here but I didn’t attended them.
“The matter is in supreme court and when we are not making any claims what will the judges of supreme court decide on this issue how BJP can make such claims, this is contempt of court and how BJP can pronounce this judgement before hand.
“We are here to talk about J&K and not Manipur issue but we are worried about the situation there and also in Gurgaon and we have talked about it in parliament.
“The turning of J&K state into a UT can happen with any state. The BJP has been witnessing losses in elections in Bengal, what it they dissolve the constituent assembly there and make West Bengal a UT.
“We are also fighting this case so that no other state witnesses the same fate like J&K. The scrapping of Article-370 was BJP’s old issue and every political party has the right to put forward their opinions to get votes but the consent of J&K natives was not taken along with its governor when the article was scrapped.
“The file came to governor’s office and he was only asked to sign it. This regime don’t listens to anyone and if they start hearing people then this country will become a better place”, asserted Omar Abdullah.
