“We hope that we will get justice in Supreme Court”: Hasnain Masoodi

National Conference (NC) leader and MP Justice (Retd) Hasnain Masoodi on Wednesday said asserted that they are optimistic that the people of J&K will get justice and Article-370 will be restored by the Supreme court after listening to the petitions of opposition parties.

“We hope that we will get justice because the petitions we have given are based on our constitution against the reading down of Article 370.

“The abrogation of Article-370 and the partition of J&K state is unconstitutional in August  2019 because when J&K became a part of India special provisions and promises were made which is betrayed & violated by the present regime.

“This is a constitutional matter and it was kept aside. Our statements are so valid the Supreme Court’s answer is not convincing.

Reacting to central govt affidavit’s submitted in Supreme court hearing of Article-370 that there is surge in tourism and decrease in terrorism post-2019, Justice (Retd) Hasnain Masoodi, said,” The Supreme will not entertain their affidavit as it is a post-2019 justification & it is against the merits of constitution”.

“We were only concerned about Re-organisation bill and this whole law is an apparent act which is challenged here in Supreme court.

Responding to 31 petitions filed in Supreme Court by the opposition and also Kashmiri Pandits on Article-370, Husnain, said, “We are not informed about new appeals submitted by Kashmiri Pandits here.

“The civil society of this country and people like Tayyib and Radha ji are no more but intellectuals like  Satish Jacob & Inder Salim have challenged the dilution of Article-370 here.

“We are very serious about this issue and everyone is present and watching the hearings of Article-370 very closely”, Husnain added.
