Jammu: Reconstruction of historic  Gurudwara approved

 

Jammu: The reconstruction of Historic Gurudwara Charan Kamal Asthaan of GuruNanak sahib at Shermanjla, Ramnagar Udhampur has been approved on Friday.

Sikh Advisors from J&K to National Minority Commission had submitted a case file for reconstruction of Gurdwara Charan Kamal Asthan Guru Nanak Sahibji to Chairman National Commission for Minorities, S. Iqbal Singh Lalpura.

This important initiative was taken by the Sikh Advisors from J&K to the National Minority Commission by submitting a detailed case file recently to the Chairman of the Commission S. Iqbal Singh Lalpura giving facts about the legal and social situations related to the historical Gurdwara Charan Kamal Asthan Guru Nanak Sahibji, situated at village Ser Manjla, Tehsil Ramnagar, District Udhampur, in the memory of the visit of Guru Nanak Dev ji. This Gurudwara Sahib was built by the Sikh sangat in 1980s.

The file was meticulously prepared by the Sikh social worker S. Mohan Singh Bagi , S. Manjit Singh in consultation with all state advidors to the NCM which was steered with the Commission by National Advisors Lt. Gen. PS Mehta AVSM, VSM (Retd) and Col. Jaibans Singh (Retd), both sons of the soil from J&K.

Hon’ble Chairman, NCM, had promised to take up the case with the Union as well as the state government in the interest of the minority Sikh community. The case was presented to the Hon’ble PM Shri Narinder Modi who has very graciously approved the same in the interest of the Sikh minorities of JKUT. This is a momentous moment for the Sikh Sangat who thank Chairman NCM and Hon’ble PM.
