We can cross LoC if needed in future: Rajnath Singh

Ladakh: The Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday arrived in Drass of Ladakh’s Kargil district to commemorate the 24th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas. After the wreath lying ceremony the Defence Minister addressed a gathering of Army officials, soldiers and other dignitaries and  training guns at the neighouring country said that “India can cross LoC if needed in future to give Pak a befitting reply”.

“I’m feeling so glad to be present with you on the occasion of ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas’. First of all I pay my deepest respects remembering the supreme sacrifice of the martyrs who laid their lives  for India”, Raksha Mantri said commemorating Martyrs of Kargil war.

“I pay deep regards to the valiant Kargil war martyrs who kept nation before them and didn’t stepped back to sacrifice their lives for the country”, he emphasised.

“Today,  the Huge Bhawan (superstructure) which we are witnessing in the form of India is dependent on the foundation of supreme sacrifices of our martyrs”, he asserted.

“This behemoth tree known as ‘Bharat’ is watered by the blood and sweat of these martyrs”, he claimed.

“This country witnessed innumerable foreign intrusions but it firmly stood up on its feet by the support of our army”, he added.

“During Kargil war in 1999 to protect the forehead of India from the foes atop on the heights of hill in Kargil the valour and strength demonstrated by our soldiers will be documented in golden words in history”, he stressed.

“If today we are able to breathe in this open air in Kargil it only became possible because our soldiers didn’t lowered their guns in front of the enemy in Kargil war in freezing temperatures”, he stressed further.

“The victory of Kargil is the victory of people of India. In 1999, when the Indian army attained victory in Kargil and waved the Indian flag. It wasn’t just  a flag which was planted after defeating foes in Kargil but it is the proud of all the Indians”, he said.

“The Kargil war was an imposed battle on India. During that time we tried to solve the matter with dialogues. The then Prime Minister Atal Ji went to Pakistan to talk on several issues including Kashmir to solve them but Pakistan betrayed and attacked us from behind”, he said.

“On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas I want to tell one thing to our country-persons that the honor and pride of our country is above everything for us and we can go to any extent for the nation”, Raksha Mantri claimed.
