To eradicate the menace of Drugs from the society and take stringent action against Drug Peddlers within district, Kathua Police today recovered approx. 10.300 kg Poppy Straw (Bhukki) like narcotics at Rajbagh Naka Point, 01 Narco- Smuggler.
On 13.07.2023 while receiving an information from the reliable sources at PS Rajbagh that one lady namely Sarbjeet Kour W/o Gurmeet Singh R/o Jaspal Tehsil Bakla Amritsar (Punjab) was indulged in illegal smugging of Poppy Straw (Bhukki) like narcotics and travelling in a Govt. Bus bearing Reg. No.HR55GV-7428 enrouted from Jammu towards Punjab.Acting swiftly a Police team led by Insp. Tariq Ahmed SHO P/S Rajbagh under the supervision of SDPO Border Sh. Dheeraj Singh katoch -JKPS during routine naka/checking in its jurisdictional area at Naka Point Rajbagh noticed the movement of said vehicle(Bus) bearing Reg. No. HR55GV-7428 and apprehended said lady namely Sarbjeet Kour W/o Gurmeet Singh R/o Jaspal Tehsil Bakla Amritsar (Punjab). During checking approx. 10.300 kg Poppy Straw (Bhukki) like narcotics was recovered from her possession. Thereafter all the recovered narcotic substance (approx. 10.300 kg Bhukki) was seized and one lady was arrested. On this a case FIR No. 186/2023 U/S 8/15/ NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rajbagh. Further investigation is underway.
The swift action by Kathua Police has been applauded by the General Public. SSP Kathua said that the strict & legal action against Drug Peddlers will continue in future also. People are requested to co-operate with #kathua Police in fighting the dreadful menace of Drugs.
