Police seizes heroin worth Rs 50,000, arrests smugglers in Jammu

Jammu: Under the guidance of Addl. SP Surinder Chaudhary police has arrested a heroin smuggler and recovered heroin worth rupees 50 thousand approximately from his possession, while another man has been nabbed for possessing poppy crop.

The accused have been identified as Govind Sharma s/o Kuldeep Kumar r/o  Samba and Sham Sundar s/o Tillo Ram r/o Chak Salaria, Ramgarh of Samba.

However, the accused Govind Sharma was arrested in the jurisdiction of Vijaypur police in Rakh Barotia area with Heroin of worth Rs 50,000 and with Rs 12,500 cash and the latter accused was nabbed with poppy crop hidden under culprit’s scooty’s seat. A weighing machine was also recovered from the former.

Addl. SP Surinder Choudhary has played a major role in the arrests of Narco smugglers.

The accused have been booked under NDPS act in Ramnagar and Vijaypur police stations of Samba district.

SSP Benam Tosh has said that in last six months they have apprehended 60 drug smugglers and have recovered heavy amount of drugs from them.
