                1 killed, another injured in road accident in Jammu

Jammu: An Amarnath pilgrim killed while another person suffered wounds in a road accident near Thandi Khui in Vijaypur area of Samba district on Saturday.
As per report, the mishap occurred when a speeding bus coming from Kathua rammed into him and another person, who were standing on the road in Thandi Khui of Vijaypur, following which the Yatri died on the spot and the other man sustained minor wounds.

The deceased has been identified as Rahul Kumar s/o Satish Kumar, 35, a resident of Trilokpuri of Delhi, while the injured has been identified as Tarseem Lal s/o Sudhagar Mal r/o Hiranagar of Kathua.
After the incident the travellers who came with the Yatri rushed him to the hospital, where he was pronounced as dead by doctors on arrival.
The deceased’s body has been sent to Accidental hospital Vijaypur for the autopsy and after medico-legal formalities his body will be hand over to the Yatris who came with him, the report said.
However, a probe has been set into motion by the Kathua police. The police has seized the bus and has nabbed its driver.
