Shocking: Man Receives fine for Stolen vehicle in Jammu

Jammu: In a surprising incident, a man in Jammu received an e-Challan for his stolen motorcycle that went missing almost 1 and a half years ago from Gangyal area of Jammu. To add a more shocking element to the incident, the man found out that his stolen bike is still being used by the burglar that stole it.

According to the report, the victim’s motorcycle was stolen from Gangyal Vegetable market in April 2022. However, in December 2022, he received an e-challan at his address and the e-ticket’s picture showed that a man was riding his stolen motorbike.

“I was buying vegetables and when I came back in 10 mins, my bike was missing. I went to Gangyal police station.

“They came with me and registered my complaint, but they haven’t found my stolen vehicle.

“In December, last year I received a challan for traffic violation then I went to the on-duty  traffic police personnel at Canal who sent me.

“He told me that the biker was not wearing helmet my bike is still being driven by the thief.

“My bike was burgled in April and I got challan in December that means it’s till running on roads and the police has taken no action.

“The police told me that it’s late now and apprised me to approach court. There are chances that my vehicle can be used for crime, who will take onus then.
