New born Baby found in garbage dump in Jammu

Jammu: A neonate, who was found in garbage dump in Ward No. 39 near Subash Nagar petrol pump area of Jammu by its ward councillor has died in SMGS hospital Shalamar cause the baby suffered backbone wounds, when thrown into the dump yesterday.

“At 7:30 am when I went outside as routinely I used to go a biker apprised me that a baby is lying amidst garbage dump there”, Mr Rajinder Singh Jamwal, the Ward councillor said.

“I asked that biker is the baby alive he said yes, then I went there and saw people encircling the infant”, he added.

“They told me to not touch the kid as we have called police and media. I asked a lady to give me some cloth then I wrapped the infant in a towel and took the baby to hospital”, he apprised.

“I took the infant to the emergency ward the doctors there told me to take the neonate to ICU, they admitted the toddler and started the treatment”, he said.

“At 11:30am the baby’s health worsened and the doctors said that baby’s backbone is broke and around 8:30pm the infant passed away”, he said.

“Earlier, a baby was found in a nearby drain. They are monsters who dumped the baby here and this is a huge sin”, he lamented.
