Police foils major bovine smuggling bid, rescues animals in Jammu

Jammu: Police have foiled major bovine smuggling attempt on Tuesday and rescued 28 bovines in Hiranagar area of Kathua. However, FIR has been lodged at Police Station (PS) Kathua and an investigation has been set into motion.

Hiranagar police laid a naka and during checking intercepted four trucks bearing registration numbers (JK02BC3135, JK14G0369, JK198067, JK0BJ950)  and released twenty cattle from them.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba has recently said that hundreds of bovines from illegal smugglers in Jammu have been freed and they are vigilantly dealing with the miscreants.
