Jammu: Several killed, 2 injured in Road accident

Jammu: At least eight people were killed and 2 sustained wounds in a ghastly road accident in Dangdooru village of Kishtwar district this morning,  when a vehicle in which they were travelling fell into a deep gorge.

According to the report, the mishap took place when a Cruiser bearing registration number ‘JK0B3095’ lost control and fell into a deep gorge in Dangdooru village of Kisthwar, which was taking labourers to Dangduru Power Project construction site, sadly fell into the gorge killing seven of them on the spot and wounding 3 people.

After the incident, a team of Red cross society and local police also reached at the scene of mishap and started a rescue operation and rushed the injured to Sher-e-Kashmir Memorial district Hospital Kishtwar for treatment, where one of them succumbed to his wounds taking the toll to 8.

The deceased have been identified as  Sudesh Kumar S/o Karam Chand r/o  Kastigarh village of Doda, Akhter Hussain s/o Mohd Abass r/o Pingrari Dachhan, Abdul Rasheed s/o Aziz Mohd r/o Bunjwah Kishtwar, Mubshar Ahmed Unknown,  Itva (unidentified), Rahul (unidentified), Karan (unidentified).

“Just now spoke to DC Kishtwar Dr Devansh Yadav about unfortunate road accident at Dangduru Dam site. 7 persons dead, 1 critically injured. Injured being shifted to District Hospital Kishtwar or GMC #Doda as per requirement. All possible help, as required, will be provided”, Union Minister Jitendra Singh tweeted.
