Man killed, another injured in Road mishap in Jammu
Jammu: In a tragic road mishap, a man got killed while his son sustained injuries near Purkhoo of Jammu yesterday.
As per report, the mishap took place when an speeding Eeco van (JK02CS2598) hit a bike borne father-son near Purkhoo, leaving the father and son duo critically hurt.

After the accident, the victims were rushed to GMC Jammu, where the father succumbed to his wounds during the treatment.

However, the deceased’s son is still receiving treatment at the hospital.
The victim has been identified as Ashwini Kumar, 43, resident of Palora area of Jammu.
“The car driver hit them and ran away they were rushed to GMC, where Ashwini ji received treatment till 7pm and was given 5-6 blood bottles but after sometime doctors told us to take him home as he has passed away”, a relative of the victim said.
“Station Officer Kanachak has also come, the eye-witnesses of the incident has said that the car was coming from wrong side of the road”, he added.
“They went to buy ration the car operator killed him he has left his car behind and escaped. He is survived by a son (7) and a daughter (3) and wife”, said, Mr Krishan Lal deceased’s uncle.
“He was a street vendor from which he used to earn his bread there is no other earning hand in his house other than him”, he lamented.
“This is the vehicle number (JK02CS2598) and SO has came from Kanachak police station and a probe is on, but sadly we don’t know, who hit him”, Victim’s relative said.
“There is still no police action against the accused the govt should provide them compensation”, he alleged.
