Man dies of electrocution in Jammu

Jammu: A truck conductor died of electrocution in Samba on Tuesday, when he came in contact with a live high tension power cable hanging above the truck.
According to the report, the incident occurred when the conductor was adjusting tarpaulin sheet of the truck (RJ14CE5459) while climbing atop on it, then suddenly he came in contact with a live wire and received an electric shock and died.

“We were making tea in other vehicle he went to keep the clothes inside the truck, we saw him hanging from the wire”, Driver of the truck said.
“His name is Mithu Singh. We’re from Mansar”, he added.
“He was adjusting the tarpaulin on the vehicle then he came in contact with the live wire and died”, a native man said.
After the incident, SHO Sunil Sharma and the local police as well as an ambulance and a fire brigade also reached at the site of incident.
The deceased has been identified as Mithu Singh.
The deceased’s body has been taken to GMC Jammu for autopsy, the report said.
