Body of Jawan martyred in Rajouri terror attack reaches home in Jammu

Jammu: Amidst the chanting of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Neelam Bai Amar Rahe’ the villagers of Akhnoor’s Jourian village in Jammu today received their martyred son namely Havildar Neelam Singh, who laid his life making the supreme sacrifice for the country in the terror attack in Kandi area of Rajouri yesterday.
On the arrival of Shaheed Neelam Singh’s body in Akhnoor in an army vehicle- the villagers and school children were seen standing on both sides of the road mourning and chanting “Neelam Bai Amar Rahe” “Jab Tak Suraj-Chand Rahega Neelam Bai Ka Naam Rahega” along with family members showering flowers on the martyr’s vehicle.

A pall of gloom has descended on the village and the family of the martyr and the entire village have been mourning their brave son’s sacrifice since yesterday.

Earlier, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh arrived in Jammu and will go to Rajouri to review the security measures in the kandi forest, where Army’s search operation is still going on to flush out the remaining terrorists.
Havildar Neelam Singh of Akhnoor’s Jourian village was among Lance Naik Ruchin Singh Rawat, Paratrooper Siddhant Chettri, Naik Arvind Kumar and Paratrooper Pramod Negi, who made the supreme sacrifice for the country yesterday, during the Operation Trinetra’ of the Indian Army with J&K Police and the CRPF. .
